Go read FFA.

On DW. Sometimes on Facebook.
I just have eaten a delicious marzipan chocolate. What food news do you have?
I got some kind of food poisoning on Friday and it's been toast and porridge for me. I want some veggies so much, it's not even funny.

I'd add twitch, if you are into gaming. You can chat and listen to a person talking at the same time. Find some small streamer and you can basically talk to them real-life.
I used to love twitch until my fav streamer stopped streaming :( But it's such a wild expirience when you type something in the chat and the streamer - a real life person! - replies to your message live.

Do you mean anecdotes as in анекдоты or as in anecdotes in the English meaning of the word?
(I have neither, I am a boring nerd)
in anecdotes in the English meaning of the word?
This. I know that анекдоты are translated as jokes

Have you noticed any Russian-specific variants in the test? I took it too, didn't get Russian in their predictions (I'm Russian, though) and I'm just wondering now what clocks Russian speakers when they take the test.

I don't know what variants are Russian-specific
My mom has come today to me from north and brought me some yukola (dried caribou meat)

Does anyone want to talk about accents?
What accents do you speak with? Did you consciously choose it? Does it change depending on circumstances? What's you favorite? Which ones do you have trouble understanding? Is there an anon here who understands John Bishop completely?
Once, when I was on a study trip in Germany, my group went on a guided bus tour around the city and the girl who sat next to me and I just kind of started talking to each other in English and did it for the whole day, and only at the end of the day, saying good-byes to each other, we found out that both of us were, in fact, Russian native speakers.

Who is John Bishop, is he someone famous?

I have a mix of Russian accent and RP accent
I was told by a number of native speakers that I sound a bit Scottish. Someone even explained that it's probably 'r' and 'ch' that sound a bit similar in Russian and Scottish accents ('r' in the beginning and the middle of a word, like 'rabbit' or 'boring').

Good question. I got asked once if I'm Hispanic$ more often then once people asked me what kind of Eastern European accent I have In all honesty, I'd say a mix of General American with some Russian vowels (cringe is inevitable, cringing is optional, as they say, I've embraced my vowels and sport them as a fancy peculiarity now). I like mixing in some Southern American - diphthong reduction, pen-pin merger, intonation pattern.
I have trouble understanding Asian accents and some weird British ones (who doesn't?) but the rest is pretty understandable to my ears with minor exceptions like Appalachian English but hey, even natives struggle with it.

Who is John Bishop, is he someone famous?
popular British comedian with a HEAVY Liverpool accent. I've seen him mostly on British panel shows and Graham Norton
And now he's the new companion of the Doctor.
Well, could you guys recommend any good site, where anyone can chat about English-speaking internet-freaks? Yeah, you got it right, something like Holywarka :D And extra-request, it would be perfect if there were more women, just like here. Like, you know, not 4chan or something.
