By the way, should we correct each other when we notice mistakes or is it only discouraging?
I think to have some correction is very good.
ts
Be careful with learning english from movies, anons: I once binge watched Supernatural with subtitles and now my inner english has Dean Winchester’s voice.
Sometimes it’s Castiel.
And may be this is better to translate the world "чтения" like "readings"?
Wait, wait, is that what "(probably with reading)" meant?! I kinda dismissed it cause it didn't make sence
As in for translation: I think there should be some expression signifying "reading smth for other people so they could decide whether they should read this smth themselves". Like, Reader's Digest thing?
By the way, should we correct each other when we notice mistakes or is it only discouraging?
Sounds great! Thank you very much for the word “abhorrent”!
(Or putting a tag “correction is fine” in comment if one desires a correction? I dunno sorry I’m a bit dumb in the evening)

TS is OP in English (original poster, or something).
Thanks! )
But... isn’t the TS for “topic starter” which is also in english?
Or is OP a more modern version?
(I’m confused, tho I understand that OP is the term that is used in English, still it escapes me)
Correction highly appreciated cause I’m not sure the text i’ve wrote is understandable...

Idk, never actually saw "TS" in English/international community, only in Russian-speaking one.

i’ve wrote = "I wrote" (in your case) or "I've written" (correct expression, but doesn't fit in this sentence)
is understandable = is comprehensible
By the way, should we correct each other when we notice mistakes or is it only discouraging?
If the point of the topic is to actually get people talking, then I suggest no correction, unless the text is literally impossible to understand.
Okay, if we are doing corrections...
Sometimes it turns absolutely different with real text
I think anon meant "different from".
Ugh, you all are a bunch of teachers and teachers' pets. Who cares about a couple of grammatical or lexical mistakes, you are not some secret agent trying to pass for a British native. Just chill!

I actually would like to read a fic about it (Lenin-centered, lol)
Does anyone else feel a bit like a different person when writing in English? Like, my inner voice changes a bit, it has a different intonation and I think I would appear different to people talking in English vs. Russian.

Thanks a lot, anon!

Crazy idea: writing a fic here, together, in english
Who cares about a couple of grammatical or lexical mistakes
I care, when it comes to my own mistakes.

Yeah, very true. May be it is somehow related to the brain parts that are involved in speaking foreign languages.
I've also read somewhere that even our real voice changes a bit when we switch between languages.

Nobody wants to read?..
Who cares about a couple of grammatical or lexical mistakes
That was me being chill. You haven't heard me going on about people making mistakes in Russian.

You are an asshole, nonny, this is nothing to be proud of.
Improving English is good, but it might be nicer to have the place when you can just speak without overthinking "WAS IT CORRECT I NEED TO CHECK IN GOOGLE NAH IT'S BETTER TO STAY SILENT THEN ALLOW ALL IN GOD-FORGOTTEN ANONYMOUS FORUM TO SEE MY IMPERFECTION"
Maybe we could start or end our comments by something like + and - to show if we want to see corrections or not?
